The Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV helicopter, operated by New York Helicopters, departed from the Wall Street heliport at 2:59 p.m. Approximately 15 minutes into the flight, witnesses reported seeing the helicopter break apart mid-air before crashing near Pier A Park in Hoboken, New Jersey, around 3:15 p.m.

The victims have been identified as Agustin Escobar, the global CEO of rail infrastructure at Siemens Mobility, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, a manager at Siemens Energy in Barcelona, and their three young children. The pilot's identity has not been released.
Agustin Escobar, originally from Puertollano, Spain, had an extensive international career spanning over 25 years with positions in the U.S., Spain, Germany, and South America.
