Ronnie Wood, legendary Rolling Stones guitarist, and his wife, Sally, have proven that love knows no age. At 77, Ronnie says marrying Sally, now 46, made him feel younger, and their 12-year marriage has been a testament to their deep connection. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012 in a private ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel, are still going strong—raising two beautiful daughters and living a life full of love and joy.
The couple's love story began in 2003 when they first met at the Theatre Royal, where Sally worked. Their romance blossomed, and after just six months of dating, they decided to marry. Their bond was further cemented when they became parents to two daughters, Gracie Jane and Alice Rose, born in 2016.
In a heartfelt interview, Sally opened up about the couple's secrets to a successful and happy marriage. “We spend so much time together, and we just get on so well. We’re lucky that we love being at home with our girls. We enjoy simple things, like watching TV and dining out at nice restaurants,” she shared with The Mirror.
Despite being married to one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most iconic figures, Sally revealed that they don't live the typical rockstar lifestyle. Instead, they prefer a quieter, more laid-back routine. "We’re night owls. We love staying up late, reading books, and watching television," Sally explained. The couple's routine is unique: Ronnie is used to working late into the night due to his performance schedule, which means he usually sleeps in until noon.
"I take the girls to school every day while Ronnie’s asleep. He's a creature of habit—his body is programmed for late nights,” Sally continued. “We’ve always been night people, even before we were together. It just works for us.”
While the couple is perfectly content with their current life, Sally hinted at the possibility of renewing their vows in the future. "It’s a lovely idea," she said. "When we were married for five years, we had a small ceremony at our local church with the girls. It was really special. Now, at 12 years, maybe we'll do something again when the time is right."
Despite their undeniable bond, Sally has occasionally spoken about their significant age gap. “I know the age gap is there, and I do wish it wasn’t, but it is what it is,” she confessed. "We’ve learned to work with it, and I’m happy. Ronnie is on my level completely. He’s kind, funny, and incredibly affectionate."
Sally’s honesty about their relationship, age gap included, has resonated with many of their fans, showing that love truly transcends age.
In addition to being a supportive wife, Sally also stood by Ronnie's side during his exhibition launch at the Andrew Martin shop in Chelsea, where his artwork was showcased. The event saw Ronnie looking sharp in a black suit and white dress shirt, greeting guests before heading inside to celebrate his creative endeavors.
Their 12-year journey has been filled with joy, love, and shared moments, and their story continues to inspire many.
